We celebrated National Blueberry Pancake Day a day late. I woke up this morning and John seemed very happy that we were going to celebrate. Then I realized I had no Buttermilk and no fresh blueberries. Thank goodness for the store right down the street that opens at 8:00 AM!
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make a delicious Buttermilk Pancake with Fresh Blueberries. You can use the recipe for regular Buttermilk Pancakes and then just add fresh blueberries.

Here is what my little darling blueberry pancakes look like after having the blueberries placed on top.
I usually put 3 or 4 blueberries on each pancake. This picture was taken just before they were flipped over – they have little bubbles all over them.
Usually after the first batch, I need to thin out the batter with a little more buttermilk, but it’s all up to you if you like them thick or thin.
Serve with butter and warm syrup. After going through all this trouble, cold syrup would just be an insult to those hot pancakes, don’t you think?
