Strawberry Filled Twinkies

Today is not Twinkie Day, but it should be. I don’t think there is a National Twinkie Day, so as Vice President of my own home, I shall make it so!

This is what you’ll need to make the Twinkies. I found the recipe on the King Arthur Flour website.

You will also need a pan like this…

This is called a canoe pan. You can find it online at Amazon. I’m thinking of buying a second pan, but I haven’t told John, yet.

They look lovely in their pan – the photo and the light doesn’t do them justice.

Here they are, all lovely and golden. Waiting to be filled with the Strawberry Cream.

I used the basic cream filling recipe found at the King Arthur site and added some homemade Strawberry freezer jam.

John thinks they’re pretty tasty.

Those twinkies look delicious! Did you use the freezer jam made from the strawberries I brought you?

These were delicious! So much better than store bought twinkies. Thanks for sharing!
