Yesterday, a few co-workers and I went to a local restaurant in Chinatown called Capital Restaurant
It’s kind of unassuming from the outside.
They have a huge menu, with their signature dish prominently displayed on the front.
We had some Crab Meat Cream Corn Soup.
Next came the favorite item – the Fried Chicken Wings w/Salt & Hot Pepper.
These were absolutely DELICIOUS! So delicious that I ate 7 of them. Hot and crispy, with just the right amount of salt. I like to put a slice of jalapeno on top of the wing and then take a bite.
We absolutely inhaled all 30 + wings that we ordered.
We also had sauteed Pea Shoots with Garlic Sauce. This was so fresh and vibrantly green, you could just feel the vitamins coursing through your veins.
We also had a rice dish that was so delicious. I had never had this kind of rice before but my friend says it was served in it’s traditional clear glass serving dish. Fukien Fried Rice. It has seafood, shitake mushrooms, slices of Chinese broccoli and a beautiful sauce. All served over white rice with a little egg in it. Very tasty.
On the way back to the office, it’s always an adventure. This huge Pitcher plant was outside of a florist shop.
We also found some ladies selecting a nice piece of sugar cane for the holidays. Ha, ha!
Lunch with friends and an adventure. That makes a day meaningful!
