Being Late

Sometimes just a few seconds would have made a difference. This photo is a good example.

Just a few seconds sooner and I would have had the birds right in front of the sun. Aaaahhhh!

There have been many times I’ve just missed the train – by seconds – reaching the top of the stairs or escalator, only to watch the doors close and the train moving along without me. Coupons expire, special offers end, veggies go bad in your refrigerator. So many things change by the passing of time. Wounds heal, the sting of grief becomes lessened, the time comes around again to get your oil changed. Life.

Usually in a marriage there is one who is late and one who is on time. Can you guess which one I am? I am so thankful for my husband who does his best to keep us on time.

We all have those moments of when we’ve been late to our detriment, so I’m looking forward to a new year when I will have many opportunities to be on time. Again.
