Last night I was given some saffron from Iran. I was told saffron from Spain is good but the saffron from Iran is the best!


The one dish that comes to mind is Saffron Rice.

Saffron comes from the stigma of the crocus flower. It takes over 70,000 flowers to make one pound of saffron and each flower must be hand picked.

Everything I’ve read states you only need a little to flavor your food. Hopefully mine will last a long time!
